Sandikala Ensemble

Sandikala Ensemble was founded in Yogyakarta in 2020 by Dion Nataraja and Yustiawan Paradigma Umar to develop new gamelan instruments and tuning systems through contemporary approaches to karawitan. Its current members are Ariel Tresna, Cakra Yudha, Arna Dewanda Dwi Tantya, Muhammad Erdifadillah, Suseno Setyo Wibowo, Mustika Garis Sejati, Mira Hikmaningtyas, Muhammad Roziqin, Roni Driyastoto, and I Gede Mei Sutrisna Yasa. The ensemble has presented its work in Indonesia and internationally, and is currently developing Palastra, a music-theatre project inspired by the Bhagavad Gita.
